Countrywide tally of infections surpassed 40,000 after 32 additional cases registered over the past 24 hours.
The total deaths stood at 1,481 as no patient contracting the disease died in the last 24 hours.
Another statistic has also indicated a rise: the number of patients recovered from the illness. According to health ministry data, 93 additional patients recovered from the novel coronavirus, bringing the toll to 33,447.
