Afghan security forces helped free Ismail Mohammadi, a moneychanger in western Herat province, today morning, October 14, in the province’s eighth district, said police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada.

At least eight men were arrested in connection with the moneychanger’s abduction, according to the spokesman.

A number of weapons, two AK-47 and a pistol, were seized from the abductors.

It comes days after head of moneychangers’ union in northern Balkh was released following almost one-month of being held.
