Armed Taliban fighters stormed a security outpost in Yangi Qala of northern Takhar province late at 10:30pm last night, a government official told The Killid Group on condition of anonymity.
During the clashes which lasted until midnight, 12:00am [local time], three government policemen were killed and four others wounded, the source said.
A military Humvee belonging to these forces were also taken by the group’s militants.
The source said casualties were inflicted to the Taliban militants too, but he did not provide details.
The Taliban, however, claimed as many as seven Afghan forces were killed and another three injured
