In the last 24 hours, 96 more people tested positive for the highly contagious coronavirus, and four additional patients died after contracting it, a tally by the Afghan health ministry indicated.

Another statistic has also indicated a rise: the number of patients recovered from the illness. According to health ministry data, the recovery toll has hit 33,114.
