A Taliban spokesman, Mohammad Naeem Wardak, said in a Twitter thread that the group’s deputy leader Mullah Baradar spoke via video conference with Norwegian foreign minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide about the “importance of intra-Afghan talks and humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan.”

The talks were held yesterday, September 16, around 2:00pm, said the Taliban spokesperson, where the Norwegian foreign ministry assured of her country’s support and cooperation in the peace process.

It comes as negotiators from the Afghan government and Taliban are still working out to agree to rules and procedures, and the agenda for how to negotiate and what issues should be covered was yet to be agreed to.
