Nangarhar’s provincial media outlet announced in a statement that clashes broke out between Afghan forces and armed Taliban in Dobandai and Sharlalkhil areas of Sherzad district.
At least five Pakistani nationals and 16 armed Taliban were killed in Afghan forces’ defensive attacks, according to the statement, another six were critically injured.
One security soldier was also killed and another three wounded during the clashes.
Taliban has not provided comment so far.
