Giving rumors of leave request an end, Lionel Messi on Tuesday, August 25, told the FC Barcelona he wants to leave the club after nearly two decades, Sky News reported.
Barcelona claim the Argentinian superstar is bound by a €700m (£630m) buy-out clause, but Messi’s representatives reportedly believe a clause in his contract means he can walk away for free.
It is unclear where the player might move to after leave, but the expected transfer fee and his salary mean very few clubs could afford him.
Manchester City and Paris St-Germain will be the only two alternatives capable to afford him, as per The Guardian’s report.
Messi has won a record six Ballon d’Or awards during his time at Barcelona, while helping the club win 10 Spanish league titles and four Champions League crowns.Follow TKG on Twitter & Facebook
