At least seven civilians were killed when the vehicle they were traveling in hit a roadside bomb in southern Nimroz province, said officials.
Ibrahim Amini, a spokesman for the provincial police chief of Nimroz province, said another civilian was wounded in the blast that took place yesterday around 1:45pm in Khash Rod district.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but security officials blamed Taliban insurgents.
The Taliban has yet to comment.
