The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has surpassed 222,000 in Pakistan as 4,087 people tested positive within the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the country’s health ministry.
A total 78 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in the country, pushing the total deaths to 4,551, the ministry said.
According to the country’s health ministry, at least 2,479 hospitalized patients were in critical health condition.
Another statistic had also indicated a rise: the number of patients recovered from the illness. At least 113,623 patients having been contracted with the virus have recovered back, the data further illustrated.
Globally, more than 10.9 million people have been reportedly infected with the coronavirus pandemic and more than 521,000 COVID-19 patients have died, according to a Reuters tally.
