Residents of the capital Kabul complained they had been handed over exorbitant bills in the first period of 1399 Solar Hijri; the authorities in Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), however, issued denial to the claims, saying 45% of the residents were charged with less than 1,000 Afghanis.
Many consumers in Kabul city have complained against the higher power bills despite lower units of consumption.
Belal Ahmad Haidari and Zabihullah Kajabi are the residents of Kabul city who have been charged with higher power bills several times as much money as previous time. They called the authorities of DABS for further clarifications.
Officials in Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), however, denied the claims, saying that there were no extra charges over the actual dues—they have paying for how much they consumed.
Khalid Stanikzai, Chief Commercial Officer of DABS said subscribers can refer to the power utility company of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat so that their problems get addressed.
Earlier, Kabul’s Emergency Committee decided to exempt some families and residents of the capital from paying their water and power bills in the first period of the year.
Under the committee’s decision, as many as 350,000 families who make 50% of power and water consumers have been granted exemption from paying their bills.
