Brazil has recorded 892 deaths over the past 24 hours, while a total of 21,704 new cases were registered in the country, according to the Reuters.
As of Saturday, Brazil’s death tally stood at 42,720, whereas its national case count hit 850,514 as new confirmed cases were recorded, according to a tally by Reuters.
After the United States, Brazil is second worst-affected country. According to the data provided by Reuters coronavirus map, the United States cases of infection has hit 2,076,309 with a total of 115,113 deaths.
As coronavirus cases see surge in Brazil, the World Health Organization (WHO) earlier announced that South America has become a new epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.
