Out of those cases, most are in the U.S., about 30%, as a tally by Reuters indicated. However, the Latin America has the most rapid-growing outbreak with 16% of all cases.
Brazil’s last official numbers – before it announced it was barring public from accessing coronavirus data – showed it had recorded more than 35,000 deaths related to the coronavirus, the third-highest number in the world.
The total cases in Brazil is now 672,846 with a total 35,930 related deaths, the data by Reuters indicated.
India, meanwhile, recorded some 9,887 new confirmed coronavirus cases in one day on Saturday, overtaking Italy in number of cases and now marks the world’s sixth country with highest number of infections.
India’s total cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases hit 236,657, while its total deaths stood at 6,642 as the government announced it would ease lockdown restrictions, starting from the coming Monday.
The novel coronavirus which first appeared in the Chinese central city of Wuhan has now spread to almost everywhere around the globe, infecting nearly 7 million people worldwide – including almost 1.9 million in the United States –and claiming 399,025 lives across the world.
