Coronavirus Global Cases Pass 6.1 Million

More than 6.1 million people have been reported infected with the coronavirus pandemic globally and 371,208 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

The figures announced by Reuters indicated that more than 1.7 million people have been infected with the coronavirus across the United States, while the data brought the country’s total deaths to 104,233.

In Brazil, which has now the second highest number of coronavirus cases, the total of confirmed infections have risen to 514,849, with 29,314 fatalities.

Russia, the third country with the highest number of infections has so far registered 414,878 coronavirus cases and 4,855 related deaths.

Then it is followed by the United Kingdom with a total of 274,762 cases of infection as of today and 38,489 related deaths, a second country with largest number of coronavirus deaths.

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Sunday he will ask parliament to agree to a final two-week extension of the state of emergency until June 21.

The total cases in Spain has jumped to 257,283, with a total 27,127 fatalities.

Then it is followed respectively by Italy, India, France, Germany, Peru, Turkey, and Iran with total cases higher than a hundred thousand.
