Today at around 6:30pm, local time, two militants who were attempting to carry an explosive-rigged motorcycle in Gurbaz district of Khost province were killed as the bomb attached to their motorcycle exploded, officials in the province confirmed.
The incident took place in Shaikh Amir area of Gurbaz district, Adel Haidar, a spokesman for the provincial governor, said.
Meanwhile, a roadside mine struck a police vehicle in the center of Khost province, leaving an Afghan soldier killed and a civilian injured.
No armed group has so far claimed responsibility.
