Coronavirus: Infection Toll Surpasses 4,600 as Afghanistan Records 285 Additional Confirmed Cases

May 11 (The Killid Group) − Afghanistan reported some 285 new coronavirus cases within the last 24 hours, raising the tally to 4,687, the country’s health officials said on Monday.

Addressing to media, Dr. Wahid Majroh, the deputy minister of the Afghan public health ministry, said that within the last 24 hours, 285 infections were recorded in different provinces of Afghanistan, bringing the total infections to 4,687 in the country.

Some 171 cases of infection were recorded in Kabul province, and the rest in other provinces of the country, Majroh added.

The country’s toll of fatalities from coronavirus reached 122 as two more patients lost battle for their lives, said the ministry deputy minister.

The total recoveries, however, hit 574 as recently 16 patients having been contracted with illness recovered.

Recently, the some provinces have announced they were easing lockdown restrictions, but the ministry of health warned lifting lockdowns can lead to a catastrophe.
