Afghan Intelligence Agency Announces Arrest of ISIS Leader for South and East of Asia

May 11 (The Killid Group) — Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced the arrest of ISIS leader for the south and eastern Asia.

The Afghan National Directorate of Security announced the Afghan police and Special Forces have arrested Ziaulahaq, a high-ranking leader of ISIS (ISIL) affiliate for south and Eastern Asia.

According to a statement issued by the Afghan NDS, Ziaulhaq, who was also known as Abu Omar al-Khurasani, along with the group’s head of public relations, named Suhaib, and Abu Ali, head of Intelligence for the group, was arrested in Kabul’s Kart-e-Naw area.

The statement read that the ISIS (ISIL) affiliate leader and his men were arrested after the group’s members in the NDS custody confessed to the authorities.

Earlier, the Afghan forces in three counter-terrorism operations in Shakar Dara and the PD11 of Kabul city eliminated a joint base of Haqqani Network and the ISIS affiliates.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) acknowledged that these two insurgent groups were partially responsible for a high-profile attack on a Sikh religious complex, the mortar firings during the dual inaugurations of Afghan leaders as well as a horrifying attack in Shaheed Mazari’s commemoration in the capital Kabul.

In addition, the Afghan government had also arrested a high-ranking commander of the Islamic State of the Khorasan Province (ISKP), Abdullah Orokzai, also known as Aslam Farooqi, along with 19 of his men.

Aslam Farooqi and his group was responsible for several horrific attacks in the country, including the deadly terror attack on a Sikh temple, late in March, leaving 27 killed.
