15 April (The Killid Group) — The coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting 185 countries around the world, with nearly 2 million confirmed infections and more than 126,000 deaths, according to a tally by JHU.
Statistics released figures by John Hopkins University’s coronavirus center indicated that worldwide there have been 1,982,552 infections in 185 countries across the globe.
The worldwide death toll from the new coronavirus, however, has surpassed 126,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.
Italy has registered the highest number of COVID-19 deaths, more than 21,067 as of today, while the United States has reported the majority of confirmed infections, more than half a million.
U.S. remains the country with the highest number of cases, with about 609,422 confirmed cases, mostly in New York City, according to figures collated by Johns Hopkins University.
Sorted from A-Z, the infection toll in all across continents is as: in Africa, the five countries reporting most cases are South Africa (2,415) with 27 deaths, Egypt (2,350) with 187 deaths, Algeria (2,070) with 367 total deaths, Morocco (1,888) with 126 deaths and Cameroon (848) with 14 deaths.
In Asia, the five countries reporting most cases are China (83,351) with 3,341 fatalities, Iran (74,877) with 4,683 deaths, Turkey (65,111) with 1,403 deaths Israel (12,046) with 123 deaths and South Korea (10,591) with 225 total fatalities.
In America, the five countries reporting most cases are United States (609,422) and a total of 26,056 deaths, Canada (27,063) with 903 deaths, Brazil (25,684) with 1,552 deaths, Chile (7,917) with 92 and Ecuador (7,503) with 369 total deaths.
In Europe, the five countries reporting most cases are Spain (174,060) with 18,255, Italy (162,488) with 21,067 deaths, Germany (132,210) with 3,495 total deaths, France (131,362) with 15,750 deaths and United Kingdom (94,845) with a total of 12,129 total fatalities.
In Oceania, the two countries reporting most cases are Australia (6,415) with a total of 62 deaths, New Zealand (1,386) with 9 deaths.
The virus is spreading rapidly in many countries and the death toll is still climbing – but the majority of people are recovering from the infection.
