First Batch of Medical Supplies Handed over by Chinese Ambassador to Kabul

April 2 (The Killid Group) — The Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Wang Yu, handed over the first batch of medical supplies in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 illness.

“Today I handed over Chinese medical supplies to H. E VP DANISH,” said the Chinese Ambassador on Twitter, adding that China will extend its cooperation in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

According to Mr. Yu, the COVID-19 pandemic is a mutual enemy of all Afghans and there is need for mutual cooperation to combat the virus.

The second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh, in the meantime, has called the coronavirus a global crisis, adding that a global fight against the virus is needed.

The medical aids by Chinese Embassy to Afghanistan, which includes a number of testing and sampling kits as well as protective masks, were handed over as the contagious coronavirus has contracted 239 people across Afghanistan, mostly in the Western Herat province.

So far, four Afghan residents having been contracted with the COVID-19 virus have died and ten others have recovered, according to the data provided by the health ministry officials.
