COVID-19 Infection Toll Hits 1,000 in Pakistan

March 25 (The Killid Group) — The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has now jumped to a thousand, Pakistani media reported.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) infection toll hit a thousand in Pakistan, with more than 400 infection cases reported from Sindh, the worst-hit a in the country, Pakistan government announced.

The eastern province of Punjab, in the meantime, recorded nearly 300 coronavirus cases; the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa confirmed 78 COVID-19 cases, while Balochistan reported 110 cases, according to Dawn.

Meanwhile, a 57-years-old patient died on Tuesday, bringing the death toll in Pakistan to seven.

Earlier, a doctor infected with the virus had died of the coronavirus pandemic, according to Pakistani media.

Globally, 171 countries have been affected, over 19,000 people have died and more than 430,000 infected by the illness as it spreads rapidly to new territories, according to a tally by John Hopkins University.
