March 22 (The Killid Group) – The Government of Pakistan suspended all international, chartered and private flights to Pakistan in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus, according to Pakistani media.
Pakistani media quoted country’s civil aviation authority as saying, all international, chartered and private flights will be suspended for two weeks to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
“[The] government of Pakistan has decided to suspend operation of all international passenger, chartered and private flights to Pakistan, effective from March 21 till April 4,” the civil aviation authority said in a statement.
Pakistani officials also asked people to self-quarantine for at least another 45 days, as the third coronavirus death was reported in the country, with confirmed cases rising to 534.
