March 15 (The Kilid Group) According to a statement issued by the Presidential Palace, at Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s order, it was decided to suspend schools and educational institutions due to coronavirus outbreak.

The decision was made in a meeting where Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the ministers of Education and Higher Education ministries as well as the press deputy of the Ministry of Information and Culture were present.

Under the decision, all the private and public universities, educational institutions, schools and courses of the country should be shut down until April 18, 2020.

The statement said the decision was aimed to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus and, depending on the situation, the government’s decisions on whether or not to extend the term will be shared with the public later.

The coronavirus, which first appeared in China, has now spread to 127 countries, including Afghanistan.
