March 12 (The Killid Group) – Three people were killed after a military base stationing U.S. and U.K. troops in Iraq was hit by rocket.

According to media reports, at least 12 people were injured in the attack on the Taji military camp, located in the north of Baghdad.

U.S. military sources told media an American soldier, an American contractor and a British soldier were killed.

There was no detail about the identities of the people killed in the attack.

The U.K. Ministry of Defense, however, said in a statement that the British soldier who was killed was a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps.

The U.S. Secretary of States, Mike Pompeo condemned the attack as saying in a tweet, “Today’s deadly attack on Iraq’s Camp Taji military base will not be tolerated. @DominicRaab and I agree – those responsible must be held accountable,” .

No-one claimed responsibility for the attack, and the U.S. and U.K. have not yet attributed blame.

However, the United States has always accused Iran-backed groups in Iraq of carrying out similar strikes.
