March 4, (The Killid Group) ─ The Amazon.com, Inc. said on Tuesday an employee tested positive for the coronavirus in Seattle, United States, according to media.
The Reuters news agency quoted Amazon’s spokeswoman as saying in an email, “We’re supporting the affected employee who is in quarantine.”
A report by Bloomberg News indicated that all co-workers in contact with the employee, who worked at Amazon’s South Lake Union office complex in Seattle, had been informed, the spokeswoman confirmed.
The company said on Sunday, March 1, two employees in Italy’s Milan city, had been infected with the virus and were under quarantine.
Earlier, Twitter had told its employees to work remotely due to the outbreak of the novel COVID-19.
Facebook, Google and Twitter, in the meantime, had announced they won’t participate in South by Southwest (SXSW) conference as companies restrict travel over fears about the novel coronavirus.
The novel coronavirus has so far killed 3,200 people, the vast majority in mainland China, and infected over 92,000 in more than 70 countries and territories.
