(TKG) – Two Katyusha rockets hit Iraqi capital’s Green Zone, near U.S. Embassy, on Monday Morning, according to world news agencies.
Early today morning, [March 2, 2020] two Katyusha rockets were reported to have landed inside Baghdad’s Green Zone, but left no casualties.
One of the rockets was reported to have landed close to the United States Embassy without leaving any fatalities.
The Green Zone in Iraq’s capital of Baghdad is a heavily fortified compound where most government buildings, embassies and foreign organizations are located.
The Green Zone, so far, has been targeted several times by Katyusha attacks, but none of them have been claimed; however, the United States has blamed Iran-backed groups within Hashed al-Shaabi frequently in the past.
