(TKG) − U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticized the launch of Zafar satellite by Iran as tweeting on his page on Tuesday, February 11, that Iran wants to advance its missile capabilities using the satellite launch.
Mr. Pompeo tweeted on Tuesday as saying, “The Iranian regime uses satellite launches to further advance its ballistic missile capabilities that allow it to threaten its adversaries and threaten regional stability.”
He called Iran the sponsor of terrorism, adding that, “The world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism should not be allowed to develop and test ballistic missiles.”
Pompeo’s remarks on tweeter comes after Iran launched its Zafar satellite on Sunday, which was, reportedly, unsuccessful and landed in the Indian ocean.
France had earlier criticized Iran for testing ballistic missile technology in its satellite rockets; however, Iran’s spokesperson for the country’s foreign affairs, Abbas Mosavi, reacted to this as calling it interference in “Iran’s internal affairs.”
Mr. Mosavi, further added that “country’s space program is Iran’s natural right.”
