(TKG) − According to media reports, China’s several senior officials over their handling of the coronavirus outbreak were removed as the death toll surpassed 1,000 in the mainland China.
World news agencies reported, Chinese government removed some senior officials – including the head of Hubei Health Commission, and the party secretary for the commission.
They are the most senior officials to be demoted so far, reports added.
The deputy director of the local Red Cross was also removed for “dereliction of duty” over “handling of donations,” reports further added.
These officials lost their jobs as the death toll hit 1,000 in mainland China.
The latest updates over the coronavirus death toll indicated that 108 people died from the virus in mainland China Monday, bringing the total death toll there to 1,016.
