(TKG) ─ Amnesty International expressed concerns over recent crackdown on protesters in Iran saying that Iranian security forces used unlawful force to stop the protests.
According to Amnesty International, verified video footage and photographs from victims and eyewitnesses, during the recent protests in Iran, indicated that Iranian security forces used unlawful forces such as airguns, rubber bullets, tear gas and pepper spray against protesters who gathered across Iran after Iranian authorities admitted that they had shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane on 8 January.
An unspecified number of protesters have arbitrarily been arrested by Iranian security forces, the source added.
The source further added, photographs obtained by Amnesty International indicated that security forces fired pointed pellets and rubber bullets, causing painful wounds to the protesters.
Earlier, protests across Iran began by people demanding justice for the 176 passengers killed on the plane and expressing their anger at the Iranian authorities’ admission that they had brought down a Ukrainian airliner.
