(TKG) — Suspected militants killed 25 soldiers and wounded six others Thursday [January 09, 2020] in an attack on an army outpost in Niger’s western region, the government officials told media.
According to officials in Niger as saying to media, suspected jihadist militants attacked on a military camp along Niger’s western border with Mali.
More than 60 militants were also killed when the Niger’s army responded with air strikes, the source added.
Earlier, 71 soldiers were killed in an ambush claimed by an affiliate of the Islamic State group in the region.
