(TKG) ─ According to Reuters news agency, Saudi Arabia condemned “the recent Turkish escalation in Libya” and the Turkish parliament’s approval of a troop deployment to Libya.
It was reported by the source as quoting the statement of Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministry, Saudi Arabia considers it a violation of U.N. Security Council decisions.
Saudi officials believe the Turkish interference constitutes a threat to security and stability in Libya and threatens regional and Arab security. It is also an interference in the internal affairs, which violates international principles of sovereignty.
Turkish politicians last week approved a law authorizing a military deployment in Libya to shore up the UN-backed government in Tripoli, which has been under sustained attack since April 2019 from the rival administration in the east.
