PARWAN (The Killid Group) – The Salang Highway faced an immediate closure after seasonal downpours flooded in Jab ul-Saraj district of the central province, local authorities confirmed.
Wahida Shahkar, spokesman for Parwan Governor, told The Killid floods mostly hit Gulbahar and some surrounding areas of the district, and there is no details yet on number of casualties or victims inflicted by the flood.
Due to stone fall and mudslides from up hills down the road, the main highway has been halted for traffic, she added.
Efforts underway to clear areas and re-open the road for traffic.
Meanwhile, residents said at least two people suffered injuries during the flood, as well as caused heavy substantial loss to the locals.
