The United States Department of Defense revealed details on two US soldiers killed in southern province of Kandahar, Afghanistan on Monday.

The Department (also Pentagon) in a statement said the two US soldiers were supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

Both soldiers died July 29, 2019, in Tarin Kowt, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, as a result of wounds sustained in a combat related incident, the statement elaborated.

According to the statement, the deceased soldiers are Pfc. Brandon Jay Kreischer, 20, of Stryker, Ohio and Spc. Michael Isaiah Nance, 24, of Chicago, Illinois.

Pentagon also added in its statement both soldiers were assigned to 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

KABUL – At least two United States Army soldiers were killed in an apparent insider attack in southern province of Kandahar, Afghanistan on Monday, US military said in a statement.

The statement did not release any further details on the attack, saying it is awaiting next of kin notification.

Meanwhile, the Taliban reported an Afghan soldier fired gun, killing four US soldiers and wounding two others in Shah Wali Kot district of southern province of Kandahar, before he was shot dead in exchanged firings.

No other information was provided in the press release sent out Monday afternoon by NATO’s Resolute Support headquarters, who train, advice and assist mission in the country.
