Pakistan – A number of Pakistani Muftis have issued fatwa forbidding the purchase of dollars in the country, saying not using dollars shows loyalty to the country and practice of the religion.
More than 25 Muftis in Pakistan, who follow a Sunni Pakistan alliance, said that buying dollars is the worst sin. People should buy local goods and cloths to save the country from the economic crisis.
Mufti Naeem, director of the religious school Banwariyah in Karachi, said people help country’s economy by selling dollars, and should not put their future life (doomsday) in danger by purchasing foreign currency.
Meanwhile, social media users have also campaigned “no to dollar” over rising concerns about the current situation.
