Kabul (The Killid) – Death toll from Wednesday’s Taliban attack at Counterpart International in PD10 of the Afghan capital jumped to nine, including three civilians, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement Thursday.

At least further 20 people were landed in hospitals.

The terrorist attack – which came to an end after six hours battle – was condemned by the government, United Nations and the US Embassy in Kabul, dubbing it a crime against civilians.

The insurgents initially detonated a bomb near the aid organization, which paved the ground for the following attackers intruding into the building – employees being a clear target.

The attack drew conclusion at around 5:30pm, after security forces took down two purported suicide bombers.

Meanwhile, Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs Nasrat Rahimi said more than 170 employees of the International Counterpart were helped rescue.
