Kabul – Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah is firm on his decision of boycotting the Grand Consultative Jirga for Peace; not even a formal invitation form the Presidential Palace could bring him to the national assembly.
Under a formal meeting, the Presidential Palace (also ARG) has invited the country’s executive chief to attend the event due on April 29; but he has dropped the invitation, according to an official of the CEO office.
Head of Abdullah’s Office, Abdul Qahar Abid, said President Ghani sent a team to discuss his role in the upcoming Grand Consultative Jirga for Peace, but Abdullah refused to attend the assembly.
“No doubt, the request was made. A delegation was formed by them (Presidential Palace) and even from higher addresses for negotiations, but there is no negotiation,” said Abed. “He stands by the statement that had issued. There is no negotiation and the chief executive will not attend the Jirga,” local media quoted.
