Kabul (The Killid) – The Unites States Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad says no promising steps have been taken for peace in Afghanistan through intra-Afghan dialogues.
Khalilzad in a video conference – at the US Embassy in Kabul – with a number of civil activists Tuesday said the peace negotiations he started with the Taliban delegates have considerable progress; but the intra-Afghan dialogues for the cause depicts no advancement at all.
He further said the time has come to put an end the long-fought war in Afghanistan, reiterating the achievement of the past 18 years should be preserved during the process.
Meanwhile, Khalilzad called for the young generations to provide shoulders to the government during the peace process, and raise their voices for better Afghanistan.

It comes after the Qatar talks between the government representatives and the Taliban delegates due in 20-21 April has been suspended, as critics suggested the incompetent number of delegates by Kabul the main factor for cancellation.
