Afghan government has set a number of people into two groups as individuals who will play vital role in the next round of peace talks, preparing 22 individuals for direct talks with Taliban and a group of 37 as members of the Reconciliation Council.
Previously the government had come together at Presidential Palace to discuss the Reconciliation Council.
According to sources, the government has agreed to bring participants from in-and-out of the government body together with the Taliban delegations under a shelter in Doha aimed at pushing the peace process further. Doha talk is scheduled between 14-15 April.
Speaking at the meeting, Ghani said the council has not been formed randomly, yet after a profound consideration and consultations with his allies.
“It is a pride to announce that this meeting is the result of two months of negotiations and consultations,” local media quoted Ghani as saying.
He added everyone in the country is flipping same pages form peace in Afghanistan.
Sources said the members of the Reconciliation Council are final, but the negotiating team is subject to changes.
