United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad discussed peace in Afghanistan with Roya Rahmani, country’s ambassador to America.
Khalilzad said in a tweet he met Rahmani and had a comprehensive talk on peace in Afghanistan, making it a first face-to-face visit in Washington DC.
I “Had my first meeting w/ #Afghanistan’s Ambassador to US @RoyaRahmani,” said Khalilzad in a tweet Tuesday. “We had a substantive discussion & talked next steps in the #AfghanPeaceProcess.”
He explains peace is not an easy process, rather requites joint efforts to achieve the long longing dream for peace in the country.
“It is neither an easy nor straight path we are walking,” Khalilzad said. “To stay on track it’s of utmost importance we continue to walk it together.”
