Hillary Clinton, a 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, said on Monday that she is not running for president in 2020, but will continue to show up in political affairs of the country, saying, “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I’m not running, but I’m going to keep on working and speaking and standing up for what I believe,” Clinton said as local media quoted. “I want to be sure that people understand I’m going to keep speaking out. I’m not going anywhere.”
It comes after the United States Senator Bernie Sanders announced his bid for upcoming US presidential seat in 2020, as he makes a second attempt to win over candidates of the Democratic Party.
“He ran great four years ago and he was not treated with respect by [Hillary] Clinton and that was too bad,” US President Donald Trump said while speaking to While House reporters.
The 77-year-old Senator became a developing political figure in 2016 although he lost to Hillary Clinton.
