Local officials in Nangarhar reported that acting district governor of Ghani Khail district was killed in militants’ attack in the province.
Ataullah Khogyani, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Killid that armed insurgents attacked the acting district governor’s vehicle around 10:00 am this morning, adding that the district governor was killed and one of his bodyguard was injured.
Khogyani added that the acting district governor was on his way to the district when he came under the insurgents’ attack.
No group has claimed responsibility yet.
