A key Taliban commander hailing from Badghis province was arrested by National Directorate of Security department of Herat.
Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor, said that the commander was arrested from PD 15th of Herat city.
Farhad added that the commander wanted to travel to Helmand while he was arrested by NDS operatives.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
