Pul-e-Charkhi Prison to Get Water Filtration Plant

The foundation stone for the construction of worth 10 million USD water filtration plant has been laid in the Pul-i-Charkhi Prison.
A press release from US Embassy in Kabul said that Interior Minister Wais Barmak and US Ambassador John Bass laid the foundation stone for the plant which will be completed in one year period.
The project would help provide water filtration facility for around 14,000 inmates in the country’s largest prison of Pul-i-Charkhi.
“The project is another milestone in the 12-year-old partnership of US and Afghanistan to improve the infrastructure facility for the prisons. The US will help Afghanistan to upgrade and construct modern prisons,” the US envoy said.
