The governor of Ghor province scotched speculation that Taliban may launch a massive attack on Feroz Koh, the provincial capital.
Ghulam Nasir Khazeh, during a meeting with residents, said the security forces were striving to maintain security across the province.
He spurned rumours of a Taliban attack on the provincial capital as baseless, saying all entry points were under control. No group would be allowed to disrupt security, he said.
The governor added reinforcements would arrive in the province to ensure security and retake remote-areas from militants.
In Dolina district and the provincial capital, there have been rumours the militants planned to launch a coordinated attack on Feroz Koh
