Local officials in Nangarhar said that 20 Taliban insurgents were killed and eight arrested by National Directorate of Security (NDS) special operatives in Momand Dara district.
Hazrat Khan Khaksar, district governor of Momand Dara, told Killid that the operations were launched last night in Taliban military centres in different parts of the district.
Ataullah Khogyani, provincial governor’s spokesman, also confirmed that Taliban militants wanted to launch coordinated attacks on Momand Dara and Bati Kot districts’ centres but their plans were foiled.
Khogyani added that a large amount of Taliban weapons and ammunition were also destroyed.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
