Three heavily armed attackers and two policemen were killed during a coordinated Taliban attack on the house of Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province late yesterday.
First one attacker blew his explosives-packed motorcycle at the entrance to Raziq’s home and then three heavily armed gunmen entered a fierce clash with police guarding the house, said Raziq’s secretary Ghorzang.
He said the clash between the police and the attackers lasted half an hour, leaving two policemen and the three attackers dead.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the attack on Gen. Raziq’s home.
