Uruzgan Officials: 250 Taliban Insurgents Killed, Injured During Nosrat Operation

Security officials in Uruzgan said that hundreds of Taliban insurgents have either been killed or injured in joint military operation codenamed ‘Nosrat’ conducted by Afghan and foreign forces in Trinkot, provincial capital, and a number of districts.

Uruzgan Officials: 250 Taliban Insurgents Killed, Injured During Nosrat Operation

Security officials in Uruzgan said that hundreds of Taliban insurgents have either been killed or injured in joint military operation codenamed ‘Nosrat’ conducted by Afghan and foreign forces in Trinkot, provincial capital, and a number of districts.
Brigadier Rahmat Shah Qemti, infantry commander of fourth division of Afghan National Army (ANA) in Uruzgan, told Killid that some 250 Taliban insurgents including prominent commanders have either been killed or injured during Nosrat operation.
He added that a large amount of Taliban heavy and light weapons were also destroyed.
Security officials meanwhile stressed that the operation will continue until all districts’ roads to provincial capital is opened.
Qemti also said that assistance of foreign troops was also vital in cracking down on Taliban insurgents.
“There were no civilian casualties,” Qemti said.
Five Afghan forces were either killed or injured during the operation.
