At least six Taliban insurgents including a commander named Faridullah were killed in a special operation launched by National Directorate of Security (NDS) special operatives to crack down on Taliban insurgents in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province last night.
A press release from Nangarhar governor’s office stated that Izatullah and Hejratullah were also arrested allegedly for links with Taliban insurgents.
The statement added that parts of Khogyani district were cleared of insurgents during the operation.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
