Security officials in Baghlan reported that Taliban militants sustained heavy casualties in clashes with Afghan forces over the past two days in the province.
Gen. Ikramuddin Sareh, chief of Baghlan police, said that 18 Taliban insurgents were killed and 30 injured in clashes with Afghan security forces in different parts of the province.
Sareh added that the insurgents were killed and injured in Barka district, Doshe-Polekhomre highway, and Khalazai area of Pul-e-Khomre.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
