Security officials in Nangarhar said that 17 Daesh militants were killed in Afghan security forces’ cannon strikes in Haska Mina district.
Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, spokesman for Nangarhar police, told Killid that Afghan forces targeted Daesh hideouts in Gorgai area of the district last night.
He added that six Daesh centres, nine tunnels, and some weapons and ammunition of Daesh militants were destroyed during the cannon strikes.
Mashriqiwal further stated that there were no civilian casualties.
Daesh militants are yet to comment.
