Maidan Wardak Police Chief Survives Taliban Ambush

Security officials in Maidan Wardak said that Gen. Fahim Qayem, chief of Maidan Wardak police, survived a Taliban ambush in Porak area of Logar province while he was on his way to Paktia province earlier this morning.

Naqib Amini, spokesman for Maidan Wardak police, said that the clash lasted for one hour in which two bodyguards of Qayem were injured but the chief himself survived.

Taliban militants are yet to comment.
