Unidentified gunmen killed former Jihadi Commander of Jamiat-i-Islami (JI) in the Syedkhel district of Parwan province on Tuesday.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamozai said unknown gunmen killed Asif near the main district bazaar.
He said the assailants managed to flee the area but police have launched the search.
The slain Jihadi commander had no official job currently, he added.
